Good day!
I have tried my best to find the time to write another segment, though it isn't easy.
The end of my third week and already I can't believe both how far I've come and how far I still have to go. As of now, I have walked over 200 miles and am verging on Canterbury - still astounded by the hospitality which I have been met with along the way.
Speaking of walking 200 miles - after this amount of time, and seeing how far I have already walked - I feel that I need to readjust my calculations, both in terms of the time-scale and distance that I will most likely be walking. Originally I estimated that I would be walking approximately 700 miles over the course of 2-3 months, however I am (with slight concern) now believing that the figures will be closer to 1000 miles and 3-4 months. Don't quote me on that though!
Despite only having departed a short while ago, there are many things which I have learnt in the period between my departure and now, including the fact that;
"Playing fields are your friend!"
Yes, 'Tis indeed true. At the start of my walk I was always concerned for what might happen at night. I might get to somewhere and there not be any grass, or the only available positions were small lots of privately owned land. As I have picked up, always head for a place with a playing field; it is flat ground and people generally aren't too opposed to it - well, most likely it's more that they are afraid of who the strange being in the tent is, but the result is the same! Admittedly though, if you don't get up and leave fairly early, the police will more than likely get on your case.
My knee and leg have been playing up recently and on occasion become very painful - I appreciate those who have shown concern, but I should be fine and will press on regardless.
I have been trying to update people on the go via snapchat, a free mobile app, under the username "Unsafeman121"
On another note; we have reached a quarter of the target on our donation page! £500 already raised and people continuing to aid the cause as I move along, thank you to all of those who have donated, and if you have just come across this blog and feel you want to, you can do so over at:

I look forward to updating you all again soon and I hope you have a pleasant day!
- Andrew.
